Day-by-day route

Day 1

Airport Arrival, Pinnawala and Kandy

Meet your private driver-guide at Bandaranaike International Airport and travel to Pinnawala. Visit the elephant centre and observe scheduled feeding or river activity if it is taking place. Continue to Kandy and check in at your hotel. If your arrival time allows, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and attend a traditional Kandyan dance show in the evening. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 2

Peradeniya, Sigiriya and Dambulla

After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya, known for its palms, orchids, and landscaped grounds. Continue to Sigiriya and climb the ancient rock fortress to see its gardens, ruins, fresco area, and panoramic views. Later, visit Dambulla Cave Temple, where historic Buddha statues and murals fill a series of rock caves. Overnight in the Sigiriya or Dambulla area.

Day 3

Polonnaruwa and Minneriya Safari

Travel to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa after breakfast. Explore important sites such as the Royal Palace area, ancient stupas, and the Gal Vihara rock carvings. In the afternoon, join a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park and look for elephants, deer, birds, and other wildlife. Sightings depend on natural conditions and are not guaranteed. Return to your hotel in the Sigiriya or Dambulla area for the night.

Day 4

Return to Colombo or the Airport

Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed start before checking out. If your departure schedule allows, make an optional stop at a spice garden or arrange a short village walk; extra activity charges are not included unless confirmed in advance. Drive toward Colombo and Bandaranaike International Airport, usually taking about four to five hours depending on traffic. A brief Negombo beach or lunch stop may be possible before your final drop-off.
